My precious E!
Today you are two years old. TWO.
I am amazed at the little boy you have become. Its seems like yesterday that you and I had our first face-to-face meeting in the hospital - it was definitely love at first sight. Over the last 24 months, you have grown and changed so quickly right before my eyes. You are now a whopping 28 lbs, and 34 inches. Such a big boy!
This past year you started walking, and what an independent little mover you've become. You are always on the go... not just walking but RUNNING everywhere. You have mastered the stairs... up and down, up and down, on your bum, on your belly, or if your feeling brave enough, step-by-step standing up
(with a bowl of Cheerios in your hand)!!
You've also started saying more words. No longer just Mom-ma and Dad-da, but some of your favourites include 'DONE!' and 'NO' along with 'cone', 'phone', 'boat' 'car' 'keys', 'door', 'hot', 'cold', 'uh-oh', 'poop', 'choo-choo', 'vroom-vroom', 'woof-woof', and let's not forget your favourite singer 'Gaga'!
You listen quite attentively to all Mommy and Daddy's conversations - and when you don't understand what we are saying, you announce your confusion with a loud 'Huh?'. And, until you understand what we've said, we hear: 'Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh?'! You say this word so much your Dad has started to call you: Goose, because that is what you sound like!
You are quite the little character. You like to entertain by dancing and making some pretty hilarious facial expressions. Right now you are obsessed with Backyardigans and are starting into Thomas the Train too. You love listening to Mommy's ipod... lately the only song you want to hear is Pokerface by 'Gaga' - perhaps not the most appropriate choice of music for a two year-old, but nonetheless you have some wicked dance moves when the music starts pumping!
You also like to show off your toys and your tricks to all who will watch and listen. You are very affectionate little man... if we ask you to share kisses and hugs, or high-fives and knuckles - you do it without hesitation. You love people!
You also enjoy waving at everyone and everything. Our neighbour across the street, Tisone, you wave at him all the time, whether he is actually at his house or not! You also like to wave goodbye when we flush the toilet too. Your are a funny little man, and I have no doubt you will grow up to be 'life of the party' when you are older.
You are still a good little sleeper... you go down most nights without a fight, and I am so grateful for that! I love our bedtime routine, we rock and read and I really cherish that time with you. Its the one thing I look forward to at the end of everyday.
On the weekends and in the evenings you love to play outside and have developed a budding friendship with the little boy next door. You also love to help Daddy cut the grass, sweep the garage floor and go for bike rides together.
As you embark on your third year, you are also preparing to become a big brother in a just a few short months. You have a lot of enthusiasm about the baby in Mommy's belly, and I know you are going to be a great big brother!
Yes Emery, you have become quite the little boy, and I am proud you are my little boy. Each day I love you more and more, and on your second birthday I want to you to know that you are the absolute joy of my life, and your Daddy and I are so very proud of you!
Hugs and kisses, today and always.
Love Mom
